Indian Pastor Tortured in Police Custody

Last Saturday, a Christian Pastor was tortured for nearly 24 hours in police custody. He was arrested on false charges of conversion activities in the North Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. 

China: House Church Members Raided after Easter Baptism

 After a house church in China’s coastal province held a baptism in the ocean during the Easter weekend, the members were raided by local police and asked to submit personal information.

Indonesian Christian Politician Gets Five-Month Sentence for Hate Speech

On April 19, an Indonesian court convicted Ferdinand Hutahaean, a Protestant politician, with charges of hate speech for making insulting remarks about Islam on social media. 

Fulani Militants Launch Coordinated, Deadly Attacks in Central Nigeria

An ICC correspondent in Nigeria reported that on the evening of April 11, militant Fulani herders attacked the central Nigerian village of Semaka.

 A Turkish court has sentenced Osman Kavala, a philanthropist and human rights activist, to life imprisonment for allegedly “attempting to overthrow the government.” 

SUDAN | Church Leader Imprisoned After Being Attacked

An Evangelical Lutheran Church leader was convicted on April 25 of "disturbing the peace" and sentenced to one month’s imprisonment after he was attacked by extremists during a church service in the Al Haj Abdalla Locality of Gezira State on April 10.
