Cancer-Stricken Pastor John Cao Shares Daily Poems of Faith Pastor John Cao has been discharged from Changsha Hospital after completing radiation therapy for late-stage prostate cancer following his seven-year imprisonment for peaceful Christian ministry.
Since June 10, the U.S. permanent resident has posted daily poems of faith and sacrifice on WeChat, expressing joyful submission to suffering for the Lord. Despite this resilience, authorities still withhold his passport and exit permission, preventing family reunion in America and further medical treatment.
New Barriers Emerge for Pastor Wang Lin in Zion Church Crackdown Separated from his wife and children since his October 2025 arrest, Beijing Zion Church Pastor Dr. Wang Lin now faces upgraded charges of illegal business operations and fraud. The 709 Crackdown’s Enduring Assault on China’s Freedom Defenders Eleven years after the 709 Crackdown began on July 9, 2015, the Chinese authorities’ targeting of human rights lawyers who defended religious freedom victims continues to cast a long shadow. More than 300 lawyers and activists were detained, many enduring secret detention, torture, forced confessions, and unfair trials for representing persecuted Christians and Falun Gong practitioners.
Families of those targeted still suffer from constant surveillance, job losses, and barriers to education. Yet the resilience and moral courage of these defenders and their families persist, reminding the world of the ongoing struggle for justice and religious freedom.
Xi’s War on the Cross: Thousands Forcibly Destroyed Across China Since President Xi Jinping assumed power, Chinese authorities have conducted a systematic campaign to remove thousands of crosses from church rooftops across the country, beginning in Wenzhou, Zhejiang province. Crosses were forcibly dismantled, burned, or destroyed, and in some cases, entire church buildings were demolished. Watch Here
