Iranian Christians Seeking Asylum
Artemis and Shahin Ghasemzadeh are brother and sister — and Christian converts fleeing Iran, where their faith puts them in immediate danger.
They escaped Iran earlier this year, seeking asylum after facing religious persecution. After a long and difficult journey, Artemis was transferred to Panama while Shahin remains detained in Houston, Texas. Both of their asylum claims were denied.
Now, Artemis is facing a heartbreaking deadline: Her humanitarian visa in Panama expires on June 7. If no country offers protection, she will be forced back to Iran, where Christian converts face imprisonment, torture, or even death.
We cannot let this happen.
What We're Asking
Why It Matters
Returning Artemis or Shahin to Iran would violate international human rights law — specifically the principle of non-refoulement, which forbids sending someone back to a country where they face persecution.
Your voice can make a difference! By signing this petition, you are standing up for religious freedom and the right to live safely — without fear — as a person of faith.
