Psalm 103:8
“The LORD is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love.”
Ephesians 4:32
“Be kind and compassionate to one another.”
These Bible verses provide a foundation for the practice of COMPASSION. More than that, COMPASSION is the pity that stirs one to act in order to help those who suffer. The Bible often tells us that GOD is COMPASSIONATE, but in the person of JESUS it shows us His whole ministry could be summed up in this one word 'COMPASSION.’ He felt COMPASSION toward those who suffered physically and spiritually.
Quote:
"Compassion will cure more sins than condemnation.” — Henry Ward
Prayer:
Dear Heavenly FATHER, thank You for first extending grace, mercy, and COMPASSION to me through the life and love of Your Son JESUS CHRIST.
I am reminded today that I freely received these gifts, so freely I must give. Point me to people who are in need of Your COMPASSION. I ask the HOLY SPIRIT to give me discernment on how You want me to help, and give me strength to be obedient to You and COMPASSIONATE to those who need it most. I pray this to honor You, praise You, and give You all the glory, in the most COMPASSIONATE Name of JESUS, Amen.
