1 THESSALONIANS 2:4
“For we speak as messengers approved by GOD to be entrusted with the Good News. Our purpose is to please GOD, not people. He alone examines the motives of our hearts.”

1 Thessalonians 2:4 reminds us that our ultimate purpose should be to please GOD, not people, because He is the one who examines the motives of our hearts. It will only benefit us if we’re careful to please the LORD on the importance of having pure intentions in our actions and words, especially when sharing the gospel, recognizing that GOD sees our hearts even when others don't. BASED on this verse we should ask GOD for help from the HOLY SPIRIT in living a life that’s centered on pleasing GOD and for the ability to endure opposition with a focus on His approval, not of man's.

Paul's words in 1 Thessalonians 2:4 offer a powerful reminder for our daily lives: "Our purpose is to please GOD, not people. He alone examines the motives of our hearts.” It's easy to get caught up in seeking approval or trying to impress others, but this verse calls us to a higher standard. GOD isn't just interested in our outward actions; He looks at the intentions behind them. When we act with the desire to please Him, our service, our words, and our relationships are filled with a different kind of purpose. This focus isn't about being rebellious or uncaring toward others, but about ensuring our primary motivation is to honor GOD, which ultimately leads to more genuine and impactful service for His glory!

Prayer
Holy Heavenly FATHER, thank You for entrusting us with the gospel and the privilege of serving You. Help us to live with a singular focus on pleasing You, not people. When we face criticism or feel tempted to seek approval, remind us that You are the one who truly sees and examines the motives of our hearts. Give us Your HOLY SPIRIT so that our words and actions are a reflection of Your love and truth. May we be approved by You, not by the world. In JESUS’ righteous Name, Amen.
