EPHESIANS 2:13 “But now in CHRIST JESUS you who once were far away have been brought near by the Blood of CHRIST.”

Ephesians 2:13 assures us that believers who were once "far away" from GOD are now "brought near" through the Blood of CHRIST. This phrase focuses on the amazing grace of reconciliation, reminding us that our access to GOD is now a gift, not earned, but secured by JESUS CHRIST’s sacrifice on the cross.

In CHRIST, we have a new identity and a new reality. Before, we were separated from GOD by our sins, living in a state of spiritual death and hostility towards Him. We were far from the hope and promises of GOD. But JESUS, through His sacrificial death, bridged that chasm. His Blood not only cleansed us from sin but also broke down the "dividing wall" of hostility between us and GOD. This means we are no longer outsiders, but are now welcomed into GOD’s family, brought close to the FATHER through faith in CHRIST JESUS. Ephesians 2:13 teaches that through JESUS CHRIST, those who were once spiritually distant from GOD have been brought close. This reconciliation is not achieved through human effort but is made possible by the sacrifice of JESUS’ Blood, which deals with sin and allows believers to have a close, restored relationship with GOD. The verse highlights the contrast between a former state of alienation and a new reality of nearness to GOD the FATHER, and unity with other believers.

Prayer
Dear Heavenly FATHER, Thank You for the gift of Your grace and for bringing me near to You through the Blood of Your Son, JESUS CHRIST. I praise You that while I was once far off, I am now a member of Your household, reconciled to You through JESUS’  sacrifice. Help me to never take for granted the access I have to You and to live boldly in the peace that CHRIST has secured for me. In JESUS’ precious Name, Amen.
