GALATIANS 6:14
“But GOD forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord JESUS CHRIST, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.”
Christians are to find their ultimate pride and joy not in worldly achievements or self-worth, but exclusively in the Cross of JESUS CHRIST, which signifies GOD’s immense love and grace that saves us from sin and separates us from the world's corrupt ungodly systems.
Through JESUS’ sacrifice, we are reborn as new creations, free from the burden of sin and connected to GOD, allowing us to live a life set apart from the world's corrupt systems and values.
Here, the Apostle Paul declares his single purpose for boasting: the Cross of our Lord JESUS CHRIST. This isn't a boast in human achievements, strength, possessions, or status, but in the profound act of salvation that occurred on the Cross.
Through JESUS' death and resurrection, the "world"—meaning its sinful values, priorities, and systems—has been crucified to us, and we to it. This transformation means our identity is no longer rooted in worldly things but in our New Life in CHRIST JESUS.
The cross is where GOD’s immeasurable love is displayed, enabling us to live without compromise and fear in light of the soon appearing of JESUS, as we find ultimate fulfillment in Him.
Prayer
Glorious Heavenly FATHER, we thank You for the priceless gift of JESUS CHRIST and His ultimate sacrifice on the Cross. We pray that our hearts would be transformed and that we would have no other boast but the cross of our Lord JESUS CHRIST. Give us the strength to live lives that are crucified to the world's ways, and let Your grace be our ultimate glory as we prepare and wait for His coming, in JESUS' gracious Name, we pray, Amen.
