Matthew 5:6
"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled."
JESUS speaks in this Bible passage to a deep, inner yearning. We are called to not just know what righteousness is, but to crave it, to hunger and thirst for it with all our being. This isn't a passive desire, but an active pursuit, a commitment to live a life that reflects GOD’s character. It's a reminder that righteousness isn't just about following rules, but about becoming like JESUS. Our hunger and thirst should be for JESUS CHRIST, so that we may walk in His footsteps. As we follow Him, we will become more and more like Him.
Prayer:
Heavenly FATHER, I thank You for this call to hunger and thirst for Your righteousness. Help me to recognize when I am complacent, when my desire for Your character is weak, and lead me to seek You with renewed passion. Guide me in my study of Your Word, and help me to apply its principles in my daily life. I ask that You would fill me with a desire to be more like JESUS, to embody your love, mercy, and truth. May my life be a testament to the righteousness that You have given me through faith in Your Son, JESUS CHRIST. Amen.
