Hebrews 12:14
“Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the LORD.”
GOD desires us to pursue holiness at all costs because without holiness no one will see the LORD. Make no mistake about it – the world that we live in is an unholy world populated by unholy people. We need to actively pursue holiness if we desire to draw closer to GOD because the world will not give us holiness on a silver platter but will put all hindrances and obstacles in front of us. There is a very strong current that is sweeping across the face of the earth. A current of evil and wickedness, immorality, blatant and not so blatant sin, the acceptance, approval and practice of ungodly values and demonic activities.
But you are a Christian. And guess what? Despite all the odds stacked up heavily against you, if you are resolved to following GOD and pursue holiness, there is help available and it’s free! —The only effective way for us to gain the upper hand over all of the enemies of our faith is to be filled, led, and empowered by the HOLY SPIRIT! Thank GOD that in and through faith in CHRIST JESUS we’ve been given the HOLY SPIRIT and we have the Bible to equip us in our pursuit of holiness!
Are you filled with the HOLY SPIRIT? Do you know Him?
Prayer:
FATHER GOD, we pray that You would make us holy as You are holy. We ask that Your SPIRIT will help us to hate sin more today than we did yesterday. Help us not to be casual with sin in any way. And LORD, please make our thoughts, our desires, our words, our actions, our everything, holy. We desire to completely please and honor You in every way. In JESUS’ holy name we pray. Amen.
