PSALM 31:14-15
“But as for me, I trust in You, O LORD, I say, “You are my GOD.” 15-My times are in Your hand; Deliver me from the hand of my enemies and from those who persecute me.”
Psalm 31 finds the psalmist in a dark place, but before he describes the darkness, he describes his refuge. He lets us know that he's taken refuge in the LORD. That the LORD is his rock of refuge and strong fortress to save him. This passage celebrates God's forgiving nature, while looking back on prior instances of rescue. Because GOD has rescued him in the past, David chooses to trust the LORD even when he is in danger.
It’s quite a challenge to ignore all the negativity going on in today’s unstable world. But we find comfort in the stability and strength of the Word of GOD in the face of trying times. The Psalmist gives us good depth and insight when we’re under serious attack, even when we’re under persecution. We need to keep on trusting in the LORD who is bigger than all our enemies combined! YAHWEH knows what we’re going through and He knows how and when to deliver us!
GOD has ordained every circumstance of our lives to be worked out for our good and for His glory. We can rest knowing that every aspect of our lives is under His divine control. He is our defense and our refuge in times of trouble!
Prayer:
Dear FATHER GOD, thank You that You’re always there to rescue and save us from those who mean to harm us. Help us give You our 100% trust whenever the enemy attacks. You have always been faithful in keeping us protected and safe. Your Word is full of Your very great and precious promises. Thank You that no matter how negative the world around us presents itself, You keep us in the power of Your grace and covered by the Blood of the LAMB! We love You and thank You in the holy Name Of JESUS CHRIST! Amen.
