Colossians 3:16-17
16-Let the message of CHRIST dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to GOD with gratitude in your hearts. 17-And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the LORD JESUS, giving thanks to GOD the FATHER through Him.
Failing to glorify and give thanks to GOD not only leads to idolatry, but to degenerate and unrighteous living. It all begins with an unthankful attitude and indifference and results in the lowering of our standards. This radical downward trend begins in the realm of our thinking. We all can use some disciplined study and obedience to the Word of GOD. The Bible is literally full of thanksgiving verses that honor and glorify the LORD. As the redeemed children of ABBA GOD, let us daily practice a lifestyle of gratitude. For the LORD is good; His love endures forever.
A Prayer of Gratitude:
Thank you, LORD, for the blessings You have bestowed on my life. You have provided me with more than I could ever have imagined. You have surrounded me with people who always look out for me. You have given me family and friends who bless me every day with kind words and actions. And best of all, You so “loved the world that You gave Your only begotten Son, JESUS CHRIST, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.” Thank You JESUS for dying on the cross to pay for the penalty of our sins. Thank You that You have shown us the right way to the FATHER. And LORD, Thank You for sending the HOLY SPIRIT to dwell in us who have acknowledged and received CHRIST as our Savior and Lord. I pray that Your SPIRIT will daily remind me of just how blessed I am and that You never allow me to forget to show my gratitude in prayer and returned acts of kindness. Thank You for Your Word, the Bible, and for every one of Your very great and precious promises that are given to benefit and bless us in every way. Thank You for my family and friends, and for the gift of salvation and eternal life. THANK YOU ABBA FATHER!
