The Message of the Cross.
Each of us should cherish every opportunity that GOD gives to share the gospel with others. In a world filled with sin, uncertainty and death, it stands alone as a message of life, hope and assurance from GOD to mankind. Mankind is spiritually blind as to the true meaning of the sacrificial death of CHRIST. Many seek their own way to obtain the LORD’s favor to no avail. Most trust in their good works or religious practices and reject GOD’s way of salvation through faith in JESUS CHRIST. At Calvary, we witness the fullness of both man’s hatred for GOD and GOD’s love for man. In contrast, we who are saved have personally experienced GOD’s power through the message of the cross. Our hearts and lives have been touched, transformed and our destinies changed. We have seen the true beauty of the person of CHRIST JESUS and rest on His finished work at the cross. How grateful we are that we ever heard the message of the cross. We are grateful and wonder at GOD’s wisdom and power in His plan to eliminate sin and exalt His only begotten Son. Like the dying thief so long ago, may everyone also recognize and repent of their sin, accept JESUS as Savior and receive GOD’s forgiveness. It may seem foolish to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of GOD. - Have you asked and invited JESUS to be your own Savior and Lord? HE chose to die for your sins. Will you choose to believe in Him or will you reject His offer of salvation and eternal life?
Prayer:
Dear ABBA FATHER., thank You for giving Your Son JESUS to pay for the penalty of my sins. I confess that I have sinned against You…I choose to believe, confess, receive and welcome CHRIST into my heart as my Savior and Lord from here to eternity. Thank You for Your gift of salvation and eternal life. In JESUS’ Name I pray…Amen.
