MATHEW 24:3-4
“As JESUS was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?” JESUS answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you.”
1 JOHN 4:1
“Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from GOD, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.”
When you hear people speak of the signs of the end of the age, they quickly mention wars and conflicts, national disasters, persecution of Christians, and unbridled iniquity. However, when the disciples asked JESUS, “What shall be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the world?”, the first words JESUS spoke are often overlooked. In Matthew 24:4, JESUS said, “Watch out that no one deceives you.” The word “deceive” means “to lead astray, to lead aside from the right way.” Deception has become pervasive in our society. From slick marketers, entertainers, mainstream media, court justices, politicians, to pulpit ministers, etc. The purpose is the same and that is to remove GOD from the conscience of the masses. These kind are blinded and misguided by the devil’s cunning devices. Satan will also counterfeit the acts of CHRIST to lead astray and destroy the human race. So, it should be of no surprise that JESUS said one of the marks of the last days would be great deception.
With the stage being set for the antichrist, and our world being primed for a holocaust unlike any in our history, where must our focus be to avoid being a victim of deception? What will it take to combat these To whom should we turn to for wisdom, discernment, insight, guidance, direction and truth? The Bible urges us to seek the LORD, He is the only one who can help enlighten us and give us the resilience we need against all the deceptions, lies and negativity. We are Blessed by the Word of GOD, and the HOLY SPIRIT still works to our benefit. We must fix our eyes and set our hearts to things above where CHRIST JESUS is seated with the FATHER. He is Truth, He sets captives free. He is good at everything He does for you and me! And right now He is interceding for us and nothing escapes His eyes, He is very much aware of everything happening on the earth. He is our SHIELD and exceedingly great reward! Glory to GOD!!!
