International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted(IDOP) is just a few days away on November 1, and you may be wondering who we’re praying for this year.
Maybe you have a particular country or region that’s weighing on your heart. We’re so grateful for that and encourage you to pray for these places, but we also want to challenge you to look closer. Behind every persecuted country or people group are individuals with names, families, and stories.
The prayer cards in this year’s IDOP resource kit share more about each group we’re praying for, which include:
The Underground: Those forced to practice their faith behind closed doors.
The Imprisoned: Those who have been wrongfully jailed for “crimes” related to their faith.
The Abused: Those facing sexual violence and forced marriage.
The Attacked: Those facing personal assaults, church attacks, and community-wide violence.
The Penalized: Those facing discrimination and legal hurdles that make it difficult to practice their faith openly.
The Converts: Those facing social isolation and physical danger for leaving their previous faith.
The Oppressed: Those facing religious freedom limitations in socialist and communist regimes.
In addition to prayer, we are also raising support to provide 4,000 Christians with holistic care this year for IDOP. For $300, we can provide essential care for a persecuted family of four. Will you join us in coming alongside believers in need?
