Kanya* and Phonesay’s* story is one not easily forgotten. Persecution. Divorce. Reconcilliation. Exile from their community. Survival in a forest. And a God who refused to let them go. This reunited couple is now living among a group of Christians after their home was burned down. But they know that at any moment, even this small community could disappear. Their church is unregistered, making it technically illegal. This is where they now live and worship. Their small church is the corner of a hut. But they are thankful for the opportunity to praise the Lord together without opposition! And right now, you have the opportunity to send them a message of encouragement! Open Doors’ |

When churches are forced underground, it can be devastating for Christians. It means constant uncertainty and a life of always looking over your shoulder. It means never knowing if your church will survive its next service … or if a raid or attack will happen. That’s why this kind of encouragement is an incredible gift to your persecuted brothers and sisters. Over and over, persecuted Christians tell us that what they want most is to know they aren’t alone. Letters are a great way to show how people around the world are praying.
