Recently, an Open Doors field worker helping with our ministry to North Korean believers shared a letter with us containing a very special message. This letter was written by a Christian in North Korea—a rare glimpse at life for believers who follow Jesus in the country that is No. 1 on Open Doors’ 2026 World Watch List, our annual ranking of the 50 most difficult places to live for Christ. This line from the letter stuck with me: “We are running faithfully with deep devotion to the noble honor and weighty responsibility entrusted to us.” Just imagine—the person who wrote this letter risks their life simply to be a Christian. And yet, they call this life an “honor.” This kind of countercultural faith can only be a work of the Holy Spirit! Thank you so much for your support that helps Christians like those from North Korea stand strong, no matter what. Through our secret networks in neighboring countries, Open Doors is able to help with safe houses for refugees, food and medical aid for those who cross the border and radio ministry to equip and strengthen underground Christians living inside the country.
