Join Us as We Walk with the Persecuted Faithful
This week: After 303 heartbreaking days apart, Pastor Zhang Sen and his wife Xu Chao pressed their hands together through the glass of a police van in a tearful reunion. In Guizhou, six Christians were arrested for simply teaching children Sunday school, while the wives of three detained pastors have invited President Trump to witness their husbands’ trials.
This is the reality believers are facing right now in China.
ChinaAid Urges Trump to Champion Religious Freedom in Beijing As President Trump meets Chairman Xi Jinping in Beijing today, ChinaAid founder Bob Fu has published a moving appeal: “President Trump, Please Bring This Priority List to Chairman Xi Jinping.”

Wives of Detained Pastors Invite Trump To Trial In a moving letter dated May 11, 2026, the wives of three Christian leaders—Xu Chao (wife of Pastor Zhang Sen), Li Yunyan (wife of Pastor Chang Shun), and Li Mei (wife of Elder Ma Tao)—have invited President Trump to observe their husbands’ upcoming trial in Fuyang, Anhui.
The pastors, from the Maizhong Reformed Church, were arrested on June 29, 2025, and have endured over ten months in detention on charges of “organizing illegal gatherings.” Their supposed 'crimes' amount to officiating weddings for fellow believers and welcoming home Christians who were released from administrative detention back in March 2024.

Pastor Peter Xu’s Enduring Witness Amid China’s Persecution At a Washington reception hosted by the National Endowment for Democracy and the IRF Summit, fourth-generation Christian Pastor Peter Xu—known as the “Billy Graham of China”—shared his lifetime of faithful endurance.
Arrested five times for his faith, he endured homelessness in caves and wilderness, mock executions, and brutal torture suspended like Christ on the cross. Yet in those darkest hours, he chose the path of self-denial and the cross (Matthew 16:24), refusing to deny Jesus.

Pastor Zhang Sen and Wife's Reunion After 303 Days Apart After 303 days of painful separation, Xu Chao finally glimpsed her husband, Pastor Zhang Sen of Maizhong Reformed Church in Fuyang, Anhui. On May 7, 2026, following his pretrial conference, the couple pressed four hands together through the glass of the police vehicle as he sat handcuffed inside.
Detained since July 9, 2025, on charges of “organizing illegal gatherings” for leading an unregistered house church, Pastor Zhang has endured ongoing pressure since 2021 for refusing state oversight. Their story calls the world to see the human cost and quiet courage of China’s house-church families. Continue Reading...

Join Us In Prayer:
- Lord, grant wisdom, humility, courage, and discernment to Trump and Xi. Let the peace of Christ prevail over conflict, truth over deception, and justice over oppression.
- Father, we plead for 6 Christians arrested in Kaili City. We pray for just lawyers to help fight these charges in court. We pray for an honest and just judge to uphold the freedom of religion.
- Lord, we thank you for the faith of the wives from Maizhong Reformed Church. We pray this invitation elevates their husband’s cases to the international stage and the Trump administration takes steps to ensure their freedom.
- Father, thank you for Pastor Peter Xu’s bold testimony in Washington D.C. especially in such a timely week. We pray his voice compels leadership to act for religious freedom in China!
- Lord, we bless Pastor Zhang Sen and his wife Xu Chao and their family. We bless their marriage. We pray for strength as they endure this unjust separation.

“He can show Xi Jinping — and the 1.3 billion Chinese people watching — that America still stands for liberty, religious freedom, and human dignity. He can make clear that the United States does not measure success only in tariffs, military leverage, or economic concessions, but also in whether innocent people are allowed to live freely without fear of imprisonment for their beliefs.”
- Dr. Bob Fu, The Washington Stand, May 8, 2026
