Lead Story: Viral Letter from China's Brave Arrested Pastor

"Dear brothers and sisters, all the saints of Zion: May God's grace and peace be upon you from our Father God and the Lord Jesus Christ. Don't worry about me. I find great comfort in being able to endure this little suffering for the gospel. I'm truly joyful to be among these brothers and sisters who have paid the price for the gospel. Isn’t this what the Lord Jesus said? “Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down his life for his friends.” (John 15:13).

In such trials, our faith is refined, becoming pure as gold; our hope grows brighter, shining like the morning star. Now, amidst the persecution, I hope we will not lose the courage given to us by the Holy Spirit. C. S. Lewis said that courage is the first virtue; without it, all other virtues cannot be maintained. May this persecution, like the thorns that afflicted Paul, sharpen our courage and make our faith as solid as a rock. I believe that God is also testing us this time, like refining silver—painful but full of love. God will not abandon us.”

Rev. Mingri Ezra Jin,

Story #2: Bob Fu Calls on President Trump: “Please Urge Xi Jinping to Release Imprisoned Church Leaders in China”

When President Donald Trump meets China’s President Xi Jinping on October 30 during the APEC Summit in Seoul, South Korea, he will face a defining moral test: will he speak boldly for those who cannot speak for themselves — the imprisoned shepherds and faithful believers of China’s house churches?

For decades, China’s communist regime has sought to crush the spiritual vitality of its citizens through surveillance, forced ‘sinicization,’ and imprisonment of Christian leaders. The latest wave of persecution has struck one of the most vibrant and influential congregations in the nation — the Zion House Church of Beijing.

Story #4: Neighbors Incentivized to Report their Neighbors for
“Illegal Religious Activities”

(Henan Province) Amid tightening religious regulation in China, authorities in Shigunhe Town, Zhumadian City, have issued a notice urging residents to actively report “privately established religious venues” and “illegal religious activities.” The local government called on citizens to collect and submit photos, videos, or audio recordings as evidence for reports.

Individuals providing information are typically offered a cash reward of 500 yuan ($70).
Such notices rarely receive media coverage. Christian house churches have continued to be subject to stricter control. Learn More

Story #5: House Church Faces Crackdown; Accused of
Masquerading Under the Name of Religion

A house church in Shaoyang, Hunan Province, has recently come under severe suppression. The local government accused the church of “masquerading under the name of religion.” Five brothers and sisters have been detained. Church members and families are under immense pressure. The legal clause of “masquerading under the name of religion” has increasingly been used as a tool to suppress unregistered churches, characterizing ordinary religious activities as illegal. Urgent Prayer for China’s Persecuted Christians
  • Lord, we thank you for Rev. Mingri Ezra Jin’s encouraging and timely letter. We pray his heart, family, and church are revitalized and continue to remain steadfast.
  • Father, we pray for all those detained from Xuncheng Reformed Church. Strengthen their inner man with might according to Ephesians 3:16. May their hearts, spirits, and minds remain resilient.
  • We pray for President Trump and President Xi’s meeting. We pray the issue of Your holy persecuted church would not be ignored. We pray for Jimmy Lai, Gao Zhisheng, and Rev. Mingri Ezra Jin and all the imprisoned faithful would be released immediately.
  • Lord, we plead for mercy for the house church in Hunan facing severe suppression. We pray for those detained and their families may their hearts be full of hope in You.
  • Father, we pray for Your holy fear and reverence to come upon Zhumadian City. We pray your supernatural hand of protection. We pray anyone attempting to report an innocent religious practitioner would be stopped by Your holy fear, awe, and reverence. Just like you shut the mouths of the lions for Daniel.
