Lu Siwei Prayer.png

Chakra Ip, Executive Director of the 29 Principals human rights organization, just released a powerful video appealing for urgent protection for Lawyer Lu Siwei.

Your partnership empoweres ChinaAid to keep working around the clock alongside international and local partners to advocate for the release of Lawyer Lu ever since his July 28th arrest in Laos.

Lawyer Lu was on his way to the United States to reunite with his wife and daughter but was arrested by immigraton police.

Due to Lawyer Lu's work as a human rights attorney in China, ChinaAid and dozens of other NGOs express grave concern that he is "at serious risk of forced repatriation to China where he faces the high likelihood of torture and other ill-treatment."

Learn more about the importance of protecting Lawyer Lu from extradition and ensuring his safety by watching Chakra's video.

“We have verified from the very beginning that human rights lawyer Lu Siwei holds valid Chinese passports with valid visas issued both by the Lao and USA governments,” according to ChinaAid President & Founder Bob Fu.

“He was punished by the CCP government with an unjustifiable exit ban, simply for his legal defense work representing persecuted Hongkongers. We urge the Lao government to release Lu Siwei based on humanitarianism, Laos’ own laws, as well as its legal obligation to the international community so that Lu Siwei can reunite with his wife and 14-year-old daughter in the United States."

Please continue to pray for Lawyer Lu & his family. Your immediate gifts to ChinaAid equip our team members to work closely with local legal support while Lawyer Lu remains detained.
