Nigeria (International Christian Concern) ––Suspected Fulani militants killed seven people in an attack on Sambak village in Riyom, Plateau State, on June 19.

The Riyom Youth Leader said the militants attacked the Christian community around 9 p.m. shooting anyone on site. The seven who were killed were local vigilantes who patrol during the night to alert the villagers of any security threats.

Since the beginning of June, Fulani militants killed more than 50 people in a series of attacks, according to the leader. The local Fulani leader of Riyom does not attend security or peace meetings hosted by the new Special Task Force Commander, adding to the frustration of those in the community. Community members are calling on the government and the international community to come to their aid.

“We don’t know when and where the next attack will be, therefore, we need your prayers and support in all ramifications,” said a local.

HOW TO PRAY: Pray for comfort for the grieving families. Pray for better security measures for Christians in Nigeria’s Plateau State. Pray for an end to Fulani-led violence.
