CAR (International Christian Concern) – Two priests were killed on November 15 during an attack on a small town in the Central African Republic (CAR). Official estimates as of now say that at least 40 people were killed in the attack by the Unité pour la Paix en Centrafrique (UPC), an Islamic militia with ties to the Seleka militias who helped overthrow the Christian government nearly a decade ago.

The town, Alindao, in the south-east of the country, had suffered a major attack last year when over 130 people were killed and many of the towns structures were destroyed. Since that attack, there has been continued unrest in the area and a growing refugee population.

During this latest attack, the assailants entered the town killing as they went, including entering the local cathedral, killing the two priests there and destroying the church. The claims are that the attack was because they believe the locals have been supporting opposing militias, commonly known as Anti-Balaka. This continued strife will lead to a more destabilized country and continued deaths among many innocent villages and towns.

HOW TO PRAY: Pray for healing for those who lost loved ones in this violent attack. Pray for a quick recovery for those who may have been injured. Pray for peace among different religious groups in this region.
