Amnesty International notes that in September, a hardline Buddhist group attacked the home of refugees in Sri Lanka. The group has noted that there has been a clear increase in Buddhist nationalist sentiment in Sri Lanka, leading to more attacks against Christian and Muslim minorities. Amnesty International’s South Asia Director stated that the government has either failed to protect them, been indifferent to their situation, or are determined to foster the animosity.
- Pray for peace in Sri Lanka and safe interactions between authorities and refugees.
- Pray for salvation for Buddhists and Muslims as they see the presence of Christ in their Christian neighbors.
- Pray for Muslims to receive practical help through organizations that will share the Gospel with them.
