Six Christians from Elahiabad were charged with blasphemy on Friday, February 23. Munawar Shehzad, a local Muslim, accused the Christians of preventing him from painting a wall with the Islamic decree “Kalma Tayabba,” thereby insulting Islam. Following the accusations, a majority of Christians from the neighborhood fled, fearing mob violence. Pervaiz Hayat, a local human rights defender, stated that the accusations against the Christians are false.
- Pray for God’s peace to surround the Christians and Muslims and stop violence in the Elahiabad area.
- Pray for protection and for God to overturn the unjust punishment for the six accused.
- Pray for opportunities for the accused to share the Gospel with those around them.
