Zimbabwe’s current president, Robert Mugabe, has held some form of government power for nearly 40 years now. His presidency has stirred up much controversy as he has helped his country to independence and has also been blamed for the death of “civilians and opposition.” Pastor Evan Mawarire led a peaceful protest against Mugabe’s regime last year, which recently led to his arrest for “subverting the government and incitement to cause public violence.” Mawarire could get a 20-year prison sentence if convicted of his charges.
- Pray for Pastor Mawarire as he faces charges from the government.
- Pray for those who try to stand up for the rights of others as it may cause them personal harm.
- Pray for the civilians who are oppressed and negatively affected by Mugabe’s regime.
