Catholic Church in Vietnam Asked to Remove Nativity Display

Leading up to the Christmas season, authorities confronted a Catholic church in Vietnam, Dong Kieu Church, and asked them to remove a nativity display from their parish. Officials claimed that the church set up the display on land that is facing a dispute over its ownership; however, the church maintains that they legally own the property. On the same day that police confronted the church over the matter, a group of “gangsters” destroyed Christmas decorations along the road leading up to the church building .
