INDIA – Pastor Beaten by Mob, Church Set on Fire as Violent Christian Persecution Escalates in India

India has seen a sudden increase in attacks on Christians as more people are circulating since the COVID-19 lockdown was lifted. According to International Christian Concern (ICC), eight separate attacks have taken place in two weeks involving radical Hindu nationalist groups that are physically assaulting Christians and damaging their property. The most recent incident occurred on June 21 where a pastor was praying for a sick person in Kolonguda village. A mob of 150 people broke into Pastor Suresh Rao’s house, then dragged him out and severely beat him. “They kicked me like they would kick a football,” Pastor Rao said. “They dragged me into the street and pushed me to the ground. There, they started to trample on me. They tore my clothes, kicked me all over my body, and punched my left eye. I have sustained a serious eye injury as a result of a blood clot.”....Read More

UGANDA – Firsthand Witnesses in Uganda

We were amazed by the testimonials of a group of MBBs in Africa, who continue to live in Muslim-dominated communities in order to reach other Muslims with the Good News. We traveled to Africa to meet with three of these evangelists, two of whom are former Muslims. They gave us a firsthand witness of their work with new MBBs, which we now support. Here’s an inside sneak peek of their life and ministry.....Read More

NIGERIA – Boko Haram kidnap women, girls in Biu, Borno State

The terrifying sound of military assault rifles heralded the arrival of a group of Boko Haram insurgents on Friday about 10.30p.m. in Zada Shettimari Dawari, an agrarian community in Biu Local Government Area of Borno State to terrorise, rustle animals, loot food supplies, bicycles and abduct villagers. Ya’alai, a resident, said dozens of insurgents attacked the community and fired several shots in the air. Traumatised villagers quickly ran to a nearby bush to hide from the attackers. Zada Shettimari Dawari is a few kilometres from Damboa and about 90km to Maiduguri, Borno State capital. A day after the attack, the Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) killed nine soldiers in an ambush on a military convoy along Damboa-Maiduguri highway.....Read More

CHINA – Chinese seniors told to remove Christian images or lose their stipends

Elderly Christians in China are being forced by the communist government to choose between their faith and survival, a report said. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) has warned the Christians that unless they renounce their faith they will lose the government subsidies they rely on to survive, Tang Zhe noted in a report for Bitter Winter. The report cited a Catholic woman from Fuzhou city in the southeastern province of Jiangxi who had been receiving monthly 250 RMB (about $35) from the government since 2018, the year her husband died. At the end of 2019, local government officials threatened the woman, in her 60s, that the subsidy would be withdrawn unless she removes images of Jesus from her home.....Read More

As we freely celebrated America's Independence Day with our friends and family this past weekend, may we always remember the sacrifice so many have made in order for us to  live in the land of the free. We are grateful for the men and women who have given everything so that we may praise and worship our Lord without persecution. But, we must be always mindful of dangerous discrimination that can quickly lead to an environment where persecution can flourish. Towards that end, Save the Persecuted Christians recently started a sister site news aggregator, Return2Worship.org, to follow news on American churches and faith communities demanding and defending their Constitutional rights.

May all of us who live here remember how blessed we are to live in the United States of America and never forget our brothers and sisters in countries who battle daily for the same rights we have been given freely.

May God continually bless America!

Thanks for all you do.

Sincerely, your sister in Christ,
