- Greetings in the Jesus Name! May His peace abide with you. We are sorry
for this delayed report. Things have been uneasy here for awhile. There
have been rumors of transfer or release of prisoners, but as of yet nothing
has happened. There is a change of administration in the prison which came
with many changes as well.Nevertheless, our prayer meetings are still going on. We have been meeting every Saturday and we record our activities. We promised to update you monthly but that has been difficult. We hope to be able to meet up with this up date this year. As you know we have 9 permanent members. Others come and go depending on their situation. Some come with their prayer requests for healing and leave as soon as they are healed. Others are short term prisoners who stay with us for awhile and leave. Our activities are as follows: We usually spend 2 hours in our prayer time. The first 10 minutes is for singing praises. After that we go into studies about prayer. We have studied various aspects of prayer. In the beginning, some of us didn’t know much about prayer or how to pray. Our initial effort was to see that everyone learns how to pray so that we can pray in the right way. We still study prayer in it’s various forms. This has been very fruitful. The prayer study takes us about 45 minutes, then we go into intercession. Our prayer covers every aspect. We have what we call general prayer time and individual prayer requests. In individual prayer requests, we cover peoples request for prayer for healing, salvation, marriages, providence, God’s guidance and protection, spiritual growth, world missions and much, much more. We have got many reports of answered prayers and each time we meet it reflects on our praises. We have gotten many reports from the UK and the US and here in Egypt and in other places. We also praise God for our part in praying for the changes in the worlds problems. In our meetings we take up prayer requests one by one. Each person takes one request and prays while others respond Amen. At the end of the session, one person concludes with prayer. Sometimes, we share a meal or a cup of tea at the end of the meeting. Then we dismiss with exchange of greetings. On occasions when we have an urgent prayer request within the week, we don’t wait until we meet on Saturday, we write the prayer on pieces of paper and distribute to all the members to pray in their various rooms or cells. Our own prayer requests that we ask you to pray for are: 1. That funds become available to pay the fines of those who are to be released soon. 2. The ongoing talk about the transfer of prisoners may work out. 3. That those affected by the Tsunami area may find sources of rehabilitation and that the Indian and Sri Lankan brothers to be released find sources of rehabilitation too. 4. Revival in the prison, that many may give their lives to Christ. 5. Further improvement in relationship between us and the authorities. 6. For Father Monir Barsome, our Chaplain, that God may give him the wisdom to do his work well. May God grant him favor in the eyes of the prison authorities. We send our Christian greetings to all of our brothers and sisters in Christ at Christians In Crisis, to all of the Houses of Prayer, but especially the House of Prayer in Indonesia, to whom Brother Terry will soon visit. May the Lord shower His blessing upon all of you. Yours Faithfully In Prayer: Yusuf, Ganiyu, Thanagobal, Nandama, Olenese, Sevikaran, Gudip, Ratnam, Ratnasabah |
