Leading up to the Christmas season, authorities confronted a Catholic church in Vietnam, Dong Kieu Church, and asked them to remove a nativity display from their parish. Officials claimed that the church set up the display on land that is facing a dispute over its ownership; however, the church maintains that they legally own the property. On the same day that police confronted the church over the matter, a group of “gangsters” destroyed Christmas decorations along the road leading up to the church building .
- Pray that the Christmas message would spread throughout Vietnam, despite the opposition.
- Pray for this church as they deal with accusations about the ownership of their property.
- Pray for the authorities in Vietnam to show more sympathy toward minority Christians.
